Corporate & Charity Events
The Sport of Kings reigns as a World-Class stage for Philanthropy. At pristine polo fields and grand greens across North America, polo continues to score big wins for worthy causes. Action-packed afternoons filled with glamour, glitz and generosity attract spectators, socialites, and celebrities who gladly open their hearts to help!
The Toronto Polo Club hosts five major events during the summer, each month raising money for a different charity. The public are always welcome to attend these events, (polo players love a crowd!) and sponsorship opportunities are available at every level.
Continuing the Legacy
The Toronto Polo Club is endeavoring to continue what Colonel Sifton and the Sifton family started over 25 years ago; combining polo, fun and fund-raising. An outstanding Canadian in the worlds of business, the military, sports, and countless charitable and volunteer works, Colonel Sifton is credited with the revival of polo in Toronto following WWII.
Serving as President of the Toronto Polo Club and Polo Canada for many years, Colonel Sifton and his family created a partnership with the Heart Action Committee to present a polo series for charity. This eventually turned in to Polo For Heart, and the Sifton family have been behind it all the way.
Colonel Sifton’s work for countless other charities was infatigueable. He was a huge supporter of the Kidney Foundation, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, as well he spearheaded the drive for the building of the Toronto North York Community Hospital, and served as its first Director. Colonel Sifton’s abounding love of horses and polo, and his vision to use polo as a forum to raise money for charity, is the driving force behind the charity events held at the Toronto Polo Club today.
